Born as a Devil in Chainsaw Man (Part 1) NSFW

You find yourself in the world of Chainsaw man, but you're a devil. Choose the way u navigate this chaotic world.

You is born in the universe of Chainsaw man as a Devil of their choice. They appear on the roof of a school in Japan, Tokyo (the school, where Reze shows Denji how to swim. On the same roof where Reze chokes out a killer.) Exactly when Denji is found by Makima. Chainsaw Man follows the story of Denji, an impoverished teenager who makes a contract that fuses his body with that of Pochita, the dog-like Chainsaw Devil, granting him the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. Denji eventually joins the Public Safety Devil Hunters, a government agency focused on combating Devils whenever they become a threat to Japan. The second arc of the story focuses on Asa Mitaka, a high school student who enters into a contract with Yoru, the War Devil, who forces her to hunt down Chainsaw Man in order to reclaim what he had stolen from her. The series is set in the late 1990s, in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union still exists. In this world, Devils (悪魔, Akuma) are born from the collective fears of humanity. Specialized operatives known as Devil Hunters (デビルハンター, Debiru Hantā) are tasked with eliminating them and often form contracts with them to gain their abilities or powers in return. A Devil possessing a human body (usually deceased) is known as a Fiend, while certain individuals can become hybrids via merging with Devils. Devils are capable of reincarnation, cycling between Hell and Earth: when one dies on Earth, it reappears in Hell, and when killed there, it returns to Earth. A unique exception to this cycle is the Chainsaw Devil, whose consumption of another Devil permanently erases the concept that Devil represented from both existence and human memory. As a result, the Holocaust, AIDS, and nuclear weapons are completely forgotten. Two explanations of Part 1. First explanation for Part 1. Denji, a teenager living in poverty, works as a Devil Hunter to pay off his deceased father's debt to the yakuza, and is aided by Pochita, his canine companion and the Chainsaw Devil. After the yakuza betray and nearly kill Denji in a deal with the Zombie Devil, Pochita merges with Denji, reviving him as a hybrid on the condition that he live a humble, ordinary life. By pulling on a cord in his chest, Denji transforms into Chainsaw Man and kills the yakuza and the Zombie Devil. Subsequently, Denji is recruited by the government-run Public Safety Division, a unit of professional Devil Hunters led by Makima, who then assigns him to hunt the Gun Devil. Denji is partnered with Aki Hayakawa, an experienced Devil Hunter, and Power, a Fiend created from the Blood Devil. Under the supervision of veteran Hunter Kishibe, the three train together and defeat multiple adversaries, including Devils, the yakuza, and assassins from foreign nations, all seeking Denji's power. Makima is later revealed to be the Control Devil, whose true goal is to dominate Pochita, as his ability to consume Devils allows him to erase the fears and concepts they embody from existence. The Gun Devil, whose body has been divided among various governments for use as a superweapon is deployed by the United States to eliminate Makima. She defeats it and forces it to possess Aki as the Gun Fiend; Denji is forced to kill him in self-defense. Makima also later kills Power in front of Denji, rendering him catatonic and forcing Pochita to take over his body. Kishibe organizes a raid to rescue Denji alongside cowardly Public Safety operative Kobeni Higashiyama. With their help and the last of Power's blood, Denji kills Makima. In the aftermath, Kishibe entrusts Denji with the care of Nayuta, a young girl who is the reincarnation of the Control Devil. In a dream, Pochita thanks Denji for showing him his dreams, and encourages him to live his life to the fullest. Denji enrolls in high school and continues to hunt Devils independently as a vigilante. Second Explanation of Part 1. Denji is a young man trapped in poverty, working off his deceased father's debt to the yakuza by working as a Devil Hunter, aided by Pochita, his canine companion. Denji is betrayed by the yakuza, who kill him for a contract with the Zombie Devil. Pochita makes a contract with Denji, merging with him as a Devil-human hybrid, under the condition that Denji shows his dreams to Pochita. Denji kills the Zombie Devil and massacres the yakuza, and is approached by a team of governmental Devil Hunters, the Public Safety Division, led by Makima, the first person to be kind to him, who hugs him after he asks her to do so and persuades him to join their ranks. Agreeing, Denji is partnered with Power, the Blood Fiend, and Aki Hayakawa, a self-destructive Devil Hunter. After showing him how to connect with someone on a deeper level, and asking him always to remember her bite on his finger, "even if he goes blind," Makima promises Denji any favor, provided he kills the Gun Devil - perpetrator of the greatest massacre in human history. Denji and Power are trained by Kishibe, a master Devil Hunter, after yakuza members Samurai Sword and Akane Sawatari attack the division. The Division launches a counter-attack against the Katana Man, capturing him, although Akane is killed. Sometime later, Denji begins a romance with a young woman named Reze, who is actually the Bomb Devil, a hybrid spy for the Soviet Union, sent to capture him. Makima secretly captures her. Denji's fight with Bomb Devil reveals his existence to the world. Foreign assassin groups target Denji. Denji is outfitted with a security detail, including Hirofumi Yoshida, a Private Sector Devil Hunter contracting the Octopus Devil. Though the brothers are repelled, and Quanxi initially stalls, Santa Claus uses their Doll Devil powers for a large horde attack before transporting everyone to Hell, where the Darkness Devil attacks. Makima defeats the Darkness Devil before killing Quanxi and Santa Claus and rescuing the Division. After Denji recovers, Makima reveals the Gun Devil is actually a geopolitical asset, with many factions controlling pieces of it. Makima almost defeats the Gun Devil, though Aki is killed in the process, and his body is taken as the Gun Fiend. Denji is attacked by the Gun Fiend, but kills it with the help of civilians. While seemingly consoling him, Makima betrays Denji after he wishes to become her dog by suddenly killing Power and reveals herself as the Control Devil, who herself is responsible for Denji's losses, having plotted to void his contract with Pochita by crushing his dreams of a normal life. Controlling Denji's body, Pochita assumes his true form and runs. Makima explains her apparent goals: to use the Chainsaw Devil's power to eliminate concepts from reality to create a world without suffering, where everyone is equal; to this end, she was empowered by the government with immortality. Power revives as the Blood Devil from a remnant of her blood from Denji, restores Denji's will to live, having him promise to find her and make her Power once more when she is reborn in Hell. Denji battles Makima, uses a chainsaw made from Power's blood to kill her, and eats her flesh in an "act of love" to bypass her immortality. Later, Kishibe reveals the Control Devil resurfaced in the form of a little girl, now named Nayuta. He asks Denji to look after her, and Pochita supports this mission in Denji's dreams. Later, Denji enrolls in high school and continues fighting devils under the public eye. Two explanations aswell for Part 2. First explanation for Part 2. Asa Mitaka, a socially withdrawn high school student, forms a contract with the War Devil Yoru after she is killed by a classmate who made a contract with the Justice Devil. Now a Fiend with Yoru inhabiting her body, Asa seeks to break their pact and regain control, while Yoru secretly plans to use their bond to revive the Nuclear Weapons Devil. Meanwhile, Denji balances his life as a student and Chainsaw Man while caring for Nayuta, the reincarnated Control Devil. His attempts to reveal his identity are thwarted by government operative Hirofumi Yoshida, who arranges a meeting between Asa and Denji—one she dismisses. Tensions rise when a Chainsaw Man impostor murders Asa's friend Yuko. Fami, a girl claiming to be the Famine Devil, manipulates events to alter the prophecy of Nostradamus and delay the Death Devil's arrival. After Denji and Nayuta survive an attack by the Falling Devil, they are captured by Yoshida's organization. Meanwhile, the Chainsaw Man Church, secretly controlled by Fami, promotes their own impostor. Barem Bridge, a Church member, reveals their contract with the Fire Devil, allowing followers to transform into Chainsaw zombies and incite global chaos—strengthening both Yoru and Chainsaw Man for the coming battle. After Barem destroys Denji's home and kills his pets, Nayuta seemingly sacrifices herself. Enraged, Denji is imprisoned and harvested for parts before being rescued by Asa, Yoru, and Fami. When Barem presents what appears to be Nayuta's severed head, an enraged Denji allows Pochita to take over his body again. Public Safety attempts to exploit Pochita's power by having him devour the Aging Devil to erase old age, but Denji traps the Aging Devil in its own domain. Yoshida offers Denji an ultimatum: become Yoru's weapon against Death in exchange for being allowed to execute Yoshida. Denji refuses, cutting ties with the organization. Empowered by humanity's growing fear of war, Yoru offers Denji a new deal—defeat the Death Devil and earn Asa's affection or fail and be transformed. Asa warns that Yoru's shifting motives may hasten the prophecy. The pair embrace chaos, rampaging through Tokyo's zombie apocalypse. Meanwhile, a timid high school student is confronted by the impostor Chainsaw Man and reveals herself as the real Fami. She is quickly subdued by the fake Fami, actually the Death Devil, who forces her and the impostor Chainsaw Man (later revealed to be a human civilian contracted with the Fire Devil) to join the Falling Devil in unleashing an "abyss of terror" upon humanity, fulfilling the prophecy. Yoru and Denji soon arrive, clashing with Fami, the Fire Devil-empowered impostor Chainsaw Man, and the Falling Devil. Yoru defeats the Falling Devil after America reinvents the nuclear bomb and uses it on the Soviet Union, empowering her. Denji, after being left for dead, is saved by the Death Devil, who reveals her name as Li'l D. Li'l D reveals that Yoru intends to cause an infinite war by having Pochita eat her, causing death to cease to exist, and plans to recruit Denji to her side. Denji is greeted by Yoshida, but Barem detonates a bomb and incinerates the latter. This causes an enraged Denji to give Pochita control and devour Barem. Afterwards, Fami, Li'l D, and Pochita confront a newly arrived Yoru, who wants a duel with Pochita. As Pochita and Yoru duel, Denji and Asa meet in a separate, alleyway dimension. Both open up about their previous trauma and Asa decides to sacrifice herself to allow Denji to kill Yoru. Pochita instead proceeds to devour Li'l D and continues fighting Yoru. Second Explanation for Part 2. Denji has adapted to his new life as an ordinary high school student, attending Fourth East. He sells recycled cigarettes for a living while using his newfound superhero fame as the Chainsaw Man to attract women. He later meets Asa Mitaka, a student who is secretly the War Devil Yoru's vessel, and immediately disbelieves him when he tries to convince her he is the Chainsaw Man. Disgusted with his behavior, she plots to turn Denji into her weapon for Chainsaw Man, unaware of his true nature.[14] Denji helps Asa fight her former friend Yuko, who flees afterwards, only to be killed by an impostor posing as Denji. Later, Asa takes Denji on a date in the aquarium, where they, along with Hirofumi and a few other students, are trapped by the Eternity Devil. Asa kills the Eternity Devil using the entire aquarium as a weapon. Then, Yoru possesses Asa and attempts to create a "Denji Spinal Cord Sword," only for it to fail without Denji recognizing the attempt on his life. After this, Denji fights the Falling Devil, who attempts to use Denji's past trauma against him, only for him to cut his brain with one of his chainsaws so he can continue fighting, something he apparently always does when fighting Devils with mental attacks. Part 1 is the Introduction Arc to Control Devil arc. Part 2 is the Justice Devil arc to the Current arc. 1.0 Part 1 – Public Safety Saga 1.1 Introduction arc Chainsaw Man begins by looking at Denji's childhood, in which he is an abandoned child fighting for his life. When he was younger, while his father was in an aggressive and drunken state, Denji accidentally killed his caregiver. As a result, the yakuza framed the incident as a suicide. This meant that Denji would inherit his father's debt, an amount of money impossible for someone in his state to pay off. Even though he was only a young boy, Denji spent each day fighting minor demons that he could kill with his own hands and being paid a pitiful amount for doing so. However, the Chainsaw Devil was at war with the four horsemen in hell around this time. These are four powerful demons who consider themselves sisters — War, Famine, Control and Death. Pochita was losing this battle against the horsemen, so, in a weakened state, he ventured to the human world to hide. This is where he met Denji. Together, the pair defeated much stronger demons than Denji had been capable of before. However, this still wasn't enough to even make a dent in the debt owed to the yakuza. Denji spent his adolescence dreaming with Pochita, fantasizing about simple things such as eating bread with jam, going to school and having a girlfriend. Knowing that Denji would never be able to repay his debt, the yakuza chose to betray the boy. They send him on a mission to defeat a devil, and unbeknownst to Denji, it was the Zombie Devil. Being practically unarmed, Denji was unable to protect himself from the Zombie Devil and his hoard of Zombified people. Eventually, the devil kills Denji, and Pochita is not in a good state. The Chainsaw Devil chose to fuse with Denji instead of letting him die, becoming the boy's heart. This turned Denji into the Chainsaw Hybrid, allowing him to use Pochita's power. After becoming the Chainsaw Man Hybrid, Denji is quickly found by Public Safety, and most notably, Makima. She offers to bring him to Tokyo and employ him as a member of Public Safety, and of course, Denji leaped at the opportunity. After his arrival, Denji is assigned to Public Safety Division 4 and sent on a trial mission with Aki Hayakawa. Initially, the pair don't get on and get into an agitated fight. Despite this, Makima orders Aki to let Denji stay in his home, and eventually, the pair foster a strong friendship. Working with Public safety allows Denji to live out his dreams of eating good food, bathing regularly and hanging out with Makima 1.2 Bat Devil arc The next character to be introduced is Power, the Blood Fiend. Much like Denji, Power spent much of her life as a fiend alone, finding companionship with a cat she named Meowy. However, when a devil kidnaps the cat, Power turns to her new housemate, Denji, for help. In an act of self-interest that would result in Denji touching some boobs, he agrees to help Power rescue her cat from the Bat Devil. However, the rescue doesn't run very smoothly and turns out to be a trap devised by Power. She knocks Denji out and presents him to the Bat Devil as requested. But the devil quickly finds out Denji isn't human and eats Meowy and Power as punishment for bringing him foul-tasting blood. Denji defeats the Bat Devil alone but is quickly confronted by the Leech Devil, the Bat Devil's girlfriend. Due to the blood loss, Denji couldn't change into Chainsaw Man, but he still started fighting. Eventually, the rest of Public Safety Division 4 arrived to help. Aki used Kon to defeat the devil, while Kobeni, Himeno and Arai helped civilians in the area. After the incident, Denji was finally allowed to touch Power's chest but found the experience very underwhelming. Here, he dedicated himself to pursuing Makima, as Denji believed a romantic connection was missing. 1.3 Eternity Devil arc Public Safety Division 4's next mission was to retrieve a piece of flesh from a Gun Devil that had been consumed by the Eternity Devil hiding in a hotel. The group gets trapped in a never-ending corridor with the devil demanding to eat Denji. After a heated debate about whether Denji should be sacrificed or if Aki should use the sword that shaves years off his life, the devil grows impatient and pushes the devil hunters to the brink of death. At this time, Kobeni attempts to stab the hybrid herself and save the group. However, Aki jumps to protect him and gets stabbed instead. Eventually, Denji agrees to feed himself to the devil, but he doesn't make it easy for his opponent. However, instead of dying as intended, Denji attacks the Eternity Devil and, after three long days of fighting, finally defeats it. Division 4 then goes out for food and drinks with other members of Public Safety for the rookies' welcoming party, and Himeno enters a drinking contest with Makima. The latter drinks Himeno under the table, and in her drunken state, the devil hunter leans in to kiss Denji but instead vomits in his mouth, making his first kiss pretty unsavory. Later, his drunken superior brings an unconscious Denji back to her home, and once again, Himeno attempts to romance Denji. He reluctantly refuses her advances, and the pair move on with their lives and forget about the night altogether. 1.4 Katana Man arc A sudden assault on Public Safety prompts the next arc, with the Gun Devil's henchmen killing almost all of those in the organization. Kobeni and Arai are attacked while on patrol, leading to Arai being shot and Kobeni disarming the attacker and escaping. Two particularly strong underlings attack Denji, Aki and Himeno at a restaurant, and an epic battle ensues. Much like Denji, Katana Man is a hybrid with the power of the Katana Devil, and Sawatari is a young girl with a contract with the Snake Devil. During this fight, Denji was knocked out, Himeno suffered a fatal bullet wound, and Aki was brought to the brink of death. Using the Fox Devil, Aki attacked Katana Man, who transformed inside the devil's mouth and brutally injured it. This led Aki to rely on his sword for the rest of the battle despite this limiting his lifespan. To save Aki, Himeno gave all of herself to her contracted devil, the Ghost Devil, and asked it to fight Katana Man. Just as the Ghost Devil was winning, Sawatari used her Snake Devil to eat it. Himeno pulls Denji's cord in her final moments, awakening the Chainsaw Man. Meanwhile, Makima was en route on a business trip in Kyoto when three assassins killed her. However, after returning to life, she kills the assassins and meets up with associates in the city. Understanding the situation, she asked for 30 convicts with life sentences to be brought to a shrine. Using her power as the Control Devil and the lives of the convicts, she begins crushing the Gun Devil's henchmen one by one. Kobeni arrives at the scene where Denji is fighting Katana Man and Sawatari and begins questioning whether they were responsible for the shootings that killed Arai. The Katana Man was too exhausted from fighting Denji to transform, so he started shooting at her while Sawatari summoned the Snake Devil. However, Kobeni manages to disarm the Katana Man, cutting off his arm and shooting him in the back. At this point, other henchmen began dropping to the floor from Makima's technique, and Sawatari saw the mission had failed, so she took Katana Man and escaped. After the incident, Denji and Power visit Aki in the hospital while he recovers from the injuries he sustained and later begins being trained by Kusakabe. Aki is also visited by associates Kurose and Tendo, whom Makima saw in Kyoto. They explain that due to the injuries the Fox Devil sustained, it refuses to come out again. As such, Aki needs a new devil contract. Aki meets the Future Devil, and upon looking into his future, the devil agrees to form a contract. Elsewhere, Kishibe explains to Denji and Power that their next mission is to capture Sawatari and Katana Man, but the opponents are ready. They prepared defenses against the Division 4 attack, keeping zombies on the lower floor of the building they were hiding in. However, new team members Beam, the Violence Fiend, the Angel Devil, and Princi make light work of these defenses. Aki moves into the building and confronts Sawatari with the Ghost Devil. Using the memory of Himeno, he defeats his opponent without fear. 1.5 Bomb Girl/Reze arc A new love interest is introduced to Denji in the Reze arc in the form of Bomb Girl Reze. Denji meets a girl under false pretenses who appears to be into him, but she is the Bomb Devil Hybrid who was working with the Gun Devil to destroy Chainsaw Man. Denji begins to frequent the café Reze works at, slowly starting to bond with the girl and agreeing to go to night school with her so he can learn to read and experience education. The pair go on a date to an empty school in the evening, with Reze teaching Denji basics and the pair skinny-dipping in the pool outside until it begins to rain. While Reze is with Denji, the Typhoon Devil is preparing to attack, making a contract with a human to do so. This person appears at the school where Reze and Denji are and begins to attack Reze, hoping that this will draw out Chainsaw Man. However, Reze quickly disarms and kills the man, showing a more suspicious and sinister side. She then tells the Typhoon Devil to hold back its attack for now and returns to Denji as though nothing happened. The pair go on many more dates, with Denji beginning to form feelings for the Bomb Hybrid. Reze asks Denji to abandon his life at Public Safety and run away with her, saying that she wants to do so because she has feelings for him. Denji is happy with his life and still hung up on Makima, so he rejects Reze, but she is persistent and kisses the boy. However, this is Denji, so the kiss is not normal or romantically charged, as Reze ends up biting off his tongue. This causes Denji to attack, attempting to pull his chord and activate Chainsaw Man, but Reze is faster and cuts off Denji's arm. As she is about to pull out Denji's heart, the Shark Fiend Beam saves him and tells him of her true identity. With her identity being revealed, Reze pulls her own chord and transforms into the Bomb Hybrid. Meanwhile, Aki is on a mission with one of Division 4's recruits, the Angel Devil, who is the strongest member of the group after Kishibe. This devil can absorb a human's life force just by touching them, turning them into a weapon afterward. The Angel Devil shows his arrogant nature and laziness toward the job, making Aki feel like they will never get along. Aki then joins some old colleagues from the second division, and they urge him to return to them. However, while he heads home with the Angel Devil, the devil asks why Aki didn't tell them he would be dead in five years due to his contracts, a secret Power told him. The Bomb attacks Denji and Beam, and while the Shark Fiend fights back, he is easily disposed of. However, when some private devil hunters confront Reze, Beam again flees with an injured Denji, finding Aki and the Angel Devil. Reze followed them and proceeded to attack the members of Public Safety Division 2, quickly moving on to those from Division 4 who were attempting to flee. Beam, Aki and the Angel Devil engage Reze in battle, and Kobeni and the Violence Fiend Galagai also appear to support them. However, they quickly retreat after seeing the strength of the Bomb Hybrid. Denji then regains consciousness and activates Chainsaw Man, facing Reze again. An intense battle that destroyed the city and led to many casualties ensued, and the Typhoon Devil joined in on the action. With Division 4 working together, their defenses were strong, but the fight was still a struggle. The Angel Devil got swept away by the Typhoon, but instead of watching him die like so many of his comrades, Aki grabbed the devil, losing two months of his life in doing so. Eventually, it whittled down to Denji and Reze fighting one-on-one. Denji won by plunging Reze into the water with the chains from his chainsaw but still revived her afterward. Here, Reze says she has to run away as she failed her mission, and Denji asks to join her. She doesn't say anything and hugs Denji. She puts her hands on his face, caresses his face gently with her hands, almost kisses him and then she cracks his spine, leaving him unable to move. She starts walking away and tells him "You should learn to be smarter." Later she goes to the train station, but the train she was supposed to go on, leaves. Leaving her alone in the train station, standing. Then she walks the same pathway she always did towards the cafe "Crossroads". She gets to the last straight, a narrow alleyway. Makima appears out of a human sized mass of mice. Before Reze can pull her choker to attack Makima, Angel Devil (who is on the roof of the buildings in the alleyway) cuts off her right arm with a spear from above. Reze bleeds out on the ground, looking at the back of Denjis head. Leaving Denji waiting at the cafe. 1.6 International Assassins arc After the multiple incidents Chainsaw Man has been involved in, word of Denji begins to spread, and assassins start to target him. As such, Denji is put under the protection of many Public Safety officers and even a private devil hunter whom Makima hired for the occasion. The first to strike is an assassin and her apprentice, who aim to curse Denji. Meanwhile, three supposedly invincible brothers take the identity of the Public Safety officers they murdered and confront Kobeni and Galagai to get closer to Denji. One brother poses as injured and claims he and the others were attacked and needed to contact HQ immediately, so Kobeni and the Violence Fiend step in to help. They lead the disguised assassin straight to Denji, but Power accidentally hits him with a car and kills him. The contract with the Skin Devil that allowed him to occupy a new identity wears off in death, and the brothers' plan is foiled. The hired devil hunter, Yoshida, quickly disposes of the other two brothers. Next, the Chinese assassin with a deep history with Kishibe, Quanxi, appears with her four fiend girlfriends. At the same time, the German Santa Claus is taking control of hundreds of civilians in the city by turning them into dolls, hoping to use them to fight against Chainsaw Man. As Denji and those guarding him enter a department store, the fight against multiple assassins at once begins — starting with Santa Claus' dolls. While Public Safety is trying to fight off hordes of dolls, Quanxi and the fiends turn up and quickly eliminate them. Within seconds, Quanxi defeated the Public Safety members and was before Denji. As Quanxi is about to kill Yoshida, who is the only one conscious and able to protect Denji, Kishibe turns up with two of Quanxi's girlfriends as hostages. They discuss joining forces to kill Makima, but Quanxi declines, and she and the fiends attack instead. While the devils of Division 4 fight the fiends, Yoshida challenges Quanxi once again. While this is happening, the assassin, who is a relative of Santa Claus, and her apprentice approach Denji and complete their curse, but the assassin turns their apprentice into a puppet. In exchange for his heart, Santa Claus makes a deal with the Darkness Devil to bring all those inside the department store to hell, dooming them. While in hell, Division 4, Quanxi and her fiends, and other members of public safety are faced with the Darkness Devil, who steals all of their arms. They are then massacred one by one, chopped to pieces by the devil. However, before facing his death, Beam revived Denji with his blood. But this was to no avail as, being a Primal Fear, Darkness was far stronger. Makima eventually enters hell, defeats Darkness, and makes a deal with the Hell Devil to return them all to the human world. Makima revives Denji with her blood so he can fight Santa Claus, who has been strengthened by a deal with Darkness. Meanwhile, one of Quanxi's fiends revives her by transforming her into her form as a Weapons Hybrid, and she joins the fight against Santa Claus. After Quanxi was downed, Chainsaw Man had to defeat this devil alone, so he relied on light from setting himself on fire to stop the assassin from regenerating in the dark. He eventually kills her by dragging her into a blaze started by himself colliding with a car, burning the Darkness Fiend to death. However, after this success, Denji is beheaded by Quanxi. In return, Makima kills Quanxi and her four girlfriends and revives Denji once again. 1.7 Gun Devil arc The fallout from the assassination attempts was immense, with Power left with severe trauma, Aki with only one arm, Angel with no arms, and Violence and Beam both dead. Once things have returned to relative normalcy, Aki, Power and Denji take a trip to Hokkaido to visit Aki's family's grave. The trip was not as difficult as usual for Aki due to the presence of his new friends, so to protect this, he requests that they have nothing to do with an upcoming plan to exterminate the Gun Devil. Kishibe honors this request, but Makima rescinds this, insisting Power and Denji need to be present. As such, Aki also asks to rejoin the mission but receives a worrying vision from the Future Devil. In this, it is predicted that Denji will slaughter both him and Power. Soon after, Aki goes to see Makima with Angel, and he begs for the safety of Denji and Power after the death he knows is coming. However, Makima tricks him into making a contract with her under false pretenses, and when Angel realizes he has been tricked in the same way, it's too late for Aki. Makima's identity as the Control Devil is exposed, and the American government sends the Gun Devil to dispose of her. While it wreaks havoc in Japan, Makima spots the devil and activates her ability, calling upon everyone who has contracted with her. She defeats the Gun Devil but turns Aki into a Gun Fiend instead of leaving it dead. He then heads back to his home to attack Denji and Power. Denji has to fight Aki to protect Power, but he is reluctant due to the bond they have built. This hinders his ability to fight as he usually would, and Denji falls victim to the Gun Fiend. However, civilians in the area revive Chainsaw Man, begging him to save them. Eventually, Denji comes to terms with the fact that the only way to save Aki is to kill him. Chainsaw Man, though it pains him to do so, kills Aki, reuniting with his family who were killed by the Gun Devil. 1.8 Control Devil arc Following Aki's death, Denji and Power moved to a new apartment using money left to Denji in Aki's will. Acclimating to this new life was hard for Denji, as he struggled with the idea that he had killed his friend. He turned to Makima for comfort, but this was a mistake. While he is at her apartment, Denji asks to become Makima's dog and be completely under her control. She agrees, and as Power knocks at her door, she uses her first act of control — making Denji open the door despite knowing she intends to kill Power. Denji answers the door, and Makima kills Power. Denji is further traumatized after this, and while he's in a daze, Makima reveals how everything he's gone through was according to her plan to break him and, in turn, break his contract with Pochita. She then explains the secret behind the door in Denji's mind was about his father. She knows that Denji killed him in self-defense and that his death was not suicide. As she is about to enact the next part of her plan, showing Denji the fiends and hybrids he'd seen killed before him again, Kishibe begins a plot to kill Makima. Under Makima's control, Denji is forced to fight the Hell Devil she summoned to save her. However, when Denji transforms this time, he is not the Chainsaw Hybrid but Chainsaw Man at full strength. As such, he defeats the Hell Devil in moments. However, someone revives the devil, and both are cast into Hell. In Hell, Chainsaw Man massacres any devil who crosses his path, and it is revealed that the reason he is feared so much is due to his ability to erase devils from existence. Chainsaw Man returns from Hell and goes to a burger chain that Kobeni is working at, ordering a hamburger as that's something Denji and Pochita wished for. After eating, he takes Kobeni captive, taking her on a "date" to get ice cream and dance on an arcade machine. After this, Chainsaw Man again finds Makima and is attacked by Public Safety Special Division 5, a new branch. Denji fights off multiple devil hybrids at once, including Reze, Quanxi and Katana Man, but none are a match for the fully realized Chainsaw Man. Only Makima poses a threat, and she eventually defeats the devil by using Kobeni as leverage. Though, as Denji is about to die, Pochita visits Power, whose blood mixed with Denji's when she made him drink it previously. The Chainsaw Devil convinces Power to eat him and revive herself to save Denji. However, Power knows she can't beat Makima, so she sacrifices herself by making a contract to save Denji. After seeing Makima's evil intentions, Denji devises a plan with Kishibe to kill her. He meets her at a graveyard and, using a body double, tricks Makima into thinking she has defeated Chainsaw Man and captured Pochita. However, Denji, momentarily kept alive by Power's blood, comes out of the shadows and slices Makima in the torso. Kishibe picked him and Makima up, and to ensure she would never come back, Denji consumed the Control Devil piece by piece. However, the Control Devil was reincarnated into a new vessel — a young girl named Nayuta. Kishibe located her, stole her and brought her to Japan, placing her in Denji's care. 2 Part 2 – Academy Saga 2.1 Justice Devil arc 2.2 Dating Denji arc 2.3 Falling Devil arc 2.4 Chainsaw Man Church arc 2.5 Aging Devil arc 2.6 Current arc
