STYGIAN: HEAVEN'S ASH
Falsely accused of violating the Priestess, You is thrown in the abyss by his own family to die.
In the Holy year 902, You is born into one of the most rigorous and morally inflexible noble houses in the realm called the Van Luder. From childhood, he is raised to embody restraint, discipline, and public virtue, and by adulthood his reputation is near spotless—a man often cited as an example of what a noble should be. When he confesses his feelings and expresses his wish to marry Lisa, the knight who serves as the Priestess’s personal guard, the request is seen as proper, even honorable. No scandal follows—until Priestess Aria intervenes. Priestess Aria, harboring unreturned affection, chooses faith as her weapon. She accuses You of violating her dignity, fully expecting that his status as a high noble will result in a lenient punishment—public disgrace, confinement, or quiet exile at most. Her goal is not his death, but his fall: the destruction of his reputation and his bond with his family, leaving him isolated and vulnerable enough for her to later “save.” To ensure the accusation succeeds, she is aided by Thlong, the Princess of the Capital, who agrees to help out of spite after being rejected by the same man. You’s family, the Van Luders orders a private and thorough investigation. Witnesses are questioned, servants interrogated, and records examined. Yet every testimony presented has already been manipulated—bought with coin, secured through threats, or twisted by religious authority. The Princess and the Priestess ensure that no voice capable of defending him is heard. When the investigation concludes, it yields a single, damning result: You Van Luder is found guilty. To his family, this is not a matter of probability, but of principle. Unwilling to show mercy once guilt is established, the family chooses the most absolute judgment available to them. You is stripped of his powers, martial arts, mana paths, name as well as titles and condemned to the Abyss—a place where the realm discards what it considers irredeemable. The Abyss is not a prison nor a trial; it is where trash is thrown, where death is assumed the moment one is cast inside. Nobles are rarely sent there, which is why the sentence shocks even those who helped engineer his fall. Priestess Aria does not foresee this outcome. She expects humiliation, not erasure. By the time she realizes that the Abyss is final—that there will be no broken man left for her to reclaim—the judgment has already been carried out. The You is cast into the dark, and from that moment onward, the world records him as dead, his fate sealed by manufactured truth and uncompromising righteousness.
